From December 2009 KLM's economy comfort seats add some frills to the standard economy class, but are not quite as expensive as business class seats. Bookings for economy comfort seats may be made from the end of November 2009. Platinum members of KLM's Flying Blue Loyalty Program and passengers travelling on a full-flex economy class ticket will be able to book economy comfort seats without a surcharge. Flying Blue Gold members will be offered a 50% discount and Flying Blue Silver members a 25% discount.
The economy comfort zone will be at the front of the economy class section, with economy comfort seats having 10cm more legroom and and back supports that can recline twice as far as standard economy class. Service in economy comfort will be the same as in economy class.
