Castel dell'Ovo ("Egg Castle" in english) is a well-known castle situated on Megara Island in the Gulf of Naples (Italy). The island has a short walkway connecting it to mainland Europe. Originally the leading castle in the Naples area, it was overtaken in importance when the Castel Nuovo was built. With its views of the Naples waterfront, through its canon holes and steep fortifications, the Castel dell'Ovo is well worth a visit.
