Situated near London to the north-east (3 miles) of Henley on Thames, Hambleden is a small village known for its brick and flint architecture and being the birthplace of Lord Cardigan. The Hambleden lock near the village is one of the most picturesque crossings of the River Thames.
Hambleden's Church of Saint Mary the Virgin dates back to the 14th Century.
The Hambleden Church contains a memorial to Cope D'Oyley, his wife and their 5 sons and 5 daughters.
The Church has beautiful stained glass windows. |
